The role
Yakoa is a SaaS platform that uses an AI and on-chain network to help brands and creators monitor IP infringement, license content, and act on it across web2 and web3.
I joined as the first product and design hire during the seed round. The company had the core technology — the detection engine — but no product. My job was to turn that capability into something brands could actually use.
The bet
The detection technology could find IP infringement across millions of on-chain assets in seconds. The challenge was making the result legible and actionable for lawyers and brand managers to make quick decisions on the spot.
The work
Over three years we shaped and shipped the standard for IP infringement protection. Highlights including:
- Takedown flow — where brands monitor and request takedowns of IP infringements across collections, marketplaces, and chains.
- Licensing flow — turning detected infringement into a one-click licensing offer to the infringer, with terms and pricing the brand defined upfront.
- Wallet view — a native interface for brands to see their own on-chain assets without having to use a crypto wallet UI.
- AI Sampling — a feature that surfaces representative pieces from very large collections so brand teams can make sense of thousands of assets without scrolling through them.
- Company websites
The result
The main solution in the market helping major fashion, media and sport brands to protect their IP in the blockchain space.
